ms. j------- walks by. her hair is still gray, her voice still sounds like my mother's. it is suitable that i have a belly full of tea and painkillers, the constant cocktail of my grade eight year. now i just need a mind full of stupid and an arm full of attention-whoring.

it's cliché to talk of the cruelty or honesty of children but i still admire the wailing kid at the back of the room for yelling "i want to CRY!" at his protesting parents.

i probably misheard him. it was probably "i want to play". i have to stop looking for metaphors where there aren't any. i have to stop having half of a heart attack every time i see a head of blonde hair. i wish i'd dated a redhead, because there aren't as many of them walking by my window. but maybe that would just make it worse? there would be a longer space between the choked "oh fuck it's totally her" and the "no okay i'm just being stupid again."

today i drank tea and sat in a café for an hour and a half, waiting for a meeting that is actually on friday. funny how that works?

he was a pretty neat kid. he entered the café screaming that he wanted ice cream, but calmed down when his dad said they'd get it after they ate, and then he just yelled occasionally. just for the hell of it, i guess. it was pretty cool.

i don't think i can say it, to be honest :P
